Thread

A thread is a series of connected posts, each replying to the one before it.

Threads let you tell a longer story or argument on a platform with short posts. Readers open the first post and follow the chain.

Thread in practice

Make the first post stand on its own, because it decides whether people continue. Keep each part to one idea and number them if the order matters.

Check the order and numbering before publishing, as a missing part breaks the story. Stay within each part’s character limit, and end with a clear next step, such as a link to the full article or a question that invites replies.

Threads do not suit every idea. If the point can be made in one post or one image, make it there. Use a thread when the reader benefits from steps, examples or a build-up, and cut anything that does not move the story on.
