Hook
A hook is the opening line or frame meant to make someone keep reading or watching.
Feeds move fast, and many platforms cut text after the first line or two. If the opening does not give a reason to continue, the rest is never read.
Hook in practice
Strong hooks state a result, ask a sharp question or name a problem the reader has. Avoid hooks that promise more than the post delivers, because that costs trust. Test two openings against each other before settling on a style.
Write several openings for each post and pick the clearest, not the cleverest. Read it out loud: if it takes more than a breath, shorten it. Then make sure the next sentence delivers on the promise, so the reader feels rewarded for continuing.
