Social media team collaboration tool

SocialPatra is a social media team collaboration tool: each client gets a workspace of its own, your team joins with set roles, and posts can wait for approval before they publish.

Approvals: every plan. Team members: Professional and up

A workspace holds one client or brand. The connected accounts, posts and team for that client stay in that workspace and do not mix with another.

Inside a workspace you decide who can write, who can schedule, who can approve and who can only look.

Multiple workspaces for social media clients

Create a workspace for each client. Posts are always looked up inside the workspace they belong to, so a teammate in one client workspace cannot open another client’s posts.

The Free plan includes one workspace. Professional and Business have no limit on the number of workspaces.

Social media roles and permissions

There are five roles. SocialPatra checks a person’s role every time they act, so changing a role takes effect straight away.

Invite your team

  1. Open the Team page. Go to Team in your workspace.
  2. Invite by email. Enter the person’s email and choose a role: admin, member, viewer or approver.
  3. They accept the invite. The invitation link works for seven days. If it goes unused you can send it again.
  4. Resend or revoke. A pending invitation can be re-sent, which gives it a new link, or revoked.

The Free plan is for the owner alone. Team members are available on Professional and Business.

Social media approval workflow

When approval is required for a member, their post is held as a draft and lands in the approval queue on its own. No one has to send it.

An owner, admin or approver reviews it on the Approvals page. A rejected post comes back with the reason the reviewer gave, and nobody can approve their own post. The full steps, reviewer actions and client sign-off are on the approval workflow page.

Sign-off for client work

The approver role is built for a client who signs off on posts. It can see content and analytics and approve posts, and nothing else: it cannot write, schedule or change connections, team or settings.

In an agency-managed client workspace the client approver can also choose whether new posts wait for their review. See the agencies page for how the client side works.

A client can also own the workspace and link an agency to it. They set what the agency may do, and either side can pay.

How a team works in one workspace

  • Members write, schedule and edit posts, and cannot change connections, team or settings.
  • Admins run the workspace day to day: they manage accounts, people and settings, and can approve posts.
  • Viewers can look at content and analytics. They cannot change anything, which suits stakeholders who only need to follow along.
  • The owner keeps billing, deleting the workspace and transferring ownership.

Start with the narrowest role that lets a person do their job. You can invite someone as a viewer and give them more access later.

Activity log

SocialPatra keeps an activity log for your workspace. It can be filtered by date range, and you only see entries from the workspace you are working in.

Frequently asked questions

What is a social media team collaboration tool?

It is software that lets several people work on the same social media accounts with set roles, so writing, approving and publishing are handled by the right people.

Can I manage several clients in one account?

Yes. Create one workspace per client. Professional and Business have no limit on workspaces, and the Free plan includes one.

Which roles can approve a post?

The owner, admins and the approver role. Members and viewers cannot approve, and nobody can approve their own post.

Is team access included on the Free plan?

No. The Free plan is for the owner alone. Adding team members needs Professional or Business; the pricing page lists the current plans.
