Refund and Cancellation Policy

Last updated:

This policy explains how SocialPatra subscriptions are billed, how to cancel, and when money is returned. SocialPatra is operated by Kodetra Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (“Kodetra”, “we”, “us”). It forms part of our Terms of Service.

1. In short

  • Paid plans renew automatically until you cancel.
  • You can cancel at any time. You keep your plan until the end of the period you already paid for, and you are not charged again.
  • 14-day money-back guarantee: the first payment for a paid plan is fully refundable if you ask within 14 days of that payment (section 6).
  • Other payments for a period you have already started are not refunded, except in the cases in section 7.
  • If something went wrong on our side, or your case is exceptional, ask us and we will decide case by case (section 8).

2. How billing works

  • Plans are billed monthly or yearly, as you choose at checkout. The price you see at checkout is the price you are charged.
  • Customers billing from India pay in Indian rupees (INR) and customers billing from elsewhere pay in US dollars (USD). The currency follows the billing country on your account. Tax invoices for Indian customers include GST.
  • When you subscribe by card you authorise a recurring card payment through our payment processor (Razorpay). Some customers can pay through PayPal instead. We never see or store your card number.
  • Each renewal charge is created one day before your current period ends, so that you get the 24-hour advance notice that card networks require, and the payment is taken at or just after the period end.
  • Every captured payment has a tax invoice that you can download from your billing page.

3. Free trial and the card check

Where a plan offers a free trial, the length is shown at checkout. To register your card for a trial we take a small verification payment (₹5 or $1). We refund it to the same card straight away; it is not a charge for the service. The first real charge is created one day before the trial ends. Cancel before the trial ends and you pay nothing for the plan.

4. Cancelling

  • Only the workspace owner can cancel. Open the billing page in your account and choose cancel.
  • Cancelling stops all future charges. Your plan stays active until the end of the period already paid for (or the end of the trial), and then the account moves to the free plan. Except under the 14-day money-back guarantee (section 6), we do not refund the unused part of a period.
  • If a payment that was already being collected is captured after you cancel, we refund it in full automatically.
  • Deleting your account cancels your subscription immediately and billing stops at once. The current period is not refunded, except under the 14-day money-back guarantee (section 6). See the account deletion section of the Privacy Policy.

5. Changing your plan

  • Upgrading: you pay the difference for the rest of the current period, calculated per remaining day, and the upgrade applies once that payment succeeds.
  • Downgrading, or switching between monthly and yearly: the change takes effect at the end of the current period, and you keep what you paid for until then. There is no refund or credit for the difference. An upgrade payment is not covered by the 14-day money-back guarantee.
  • Yearly plans: removing connected accounts or seats during the year does not lower the price already paid and is not refunded, except under the 14-day money-back guarantee (section 6).

6. 14-day money-back guarantee

  • If you are not satisfied, we will refund the first payment you make for a paid plan subscription, whether monthly or yearly, in full, including any GST, when you ask within 14 days of that payment.
  • The guarantee applies once per account (the workspace owner). If you start a free trial, it applies to the first real charge after the trial, not to the card check in section 3.
  • It does not cover renewals after the first payment or AI credit packs. An upgrade payment made in the same 14 days is not part of the guarantee; tell us about it in the same ticket and we decide it under section 8.
  • To claim it, open a ticket in our Support Center from your account's email address within the 14 days, with the date and amount of the payment.
  • The refund goes back to the card or PayPal account you paid with, as described in section 9. When we refund, your subscription is cancelled and your account moves to the free plan.
  • This guarantee is a voluntary commercial promise. It does not limit any rights you have under the consumer-protection law that applies to you, including any statutory right to withdraw from a contract for digital services.

7. When we refund automatically

  • The trial card-verification payment (section 3).
  • A renewal or trial-end payment that is captured after you cancelled (section 4).
  • A payment that was taken while registering your card, but where the card registration could not be completed, so the payment bought you nothing.

8. Other refund requests

Outside the 14-day money-back guarantee (section 6) and the automatic cases in section 7, refunds are not automatic. If a problem on our side stopped you using the service, if you were charged by mistake, or you have another exceptional circumstance, open a ticket in our Support Center from your account's email address, with the date and amount of the payment. We review each request and decide case by case; there is no fixed refund window and no guarantee of a refund. The same applies to renewals, upgrade payments and one-time purchases such as AI credit packs, which the 14-day money-back guarantee does not cover. We will tell you the outcome by email.

9. How refunds are paid

  • Refunds go back to the payment method that was charged, in the original currency. We cannot refund to a different card or account.
  • Once we issue a refund your bank or card issuer decides how long it takes to show on your statement.
  • For Indian tax invoices, a refund is recorded with a credit note that reverses the GST in proportion to the amount refunded. You can download credit notes from your billing page.
  • A refund does not change your plan by itself. If you also want to stop using the plan, cancel it as described in section 4. A refund under the 14-day money-back guarantee (section 6) also cancels the subscription.

10. Failed payments

If a renewal payment fails we try again 2 days and 4 days later. If it is still unpaid 7 days after the period ended, your access to the paid plan is suspended. If it is still unpaid after 30 days, the subscription is cancelled. You can fix a failed payment at any time by updating your card from your billing page.
