Plan: Free and up

WordPress connects with your site address, your username and an application password. That password is created in your WordPress profile just for SocialPatra, and you can delete it there whenever you like.

It works with self-hosted WordPress sites that have the REST API enabled, which is the default on current versions.

Connect your WordPress site

  1. Open your profile in WordPress. Sign in to your WordPress admin, open Users, then Profile, and scroll to the Application Passwords section.
  2. Create an application password. Type a name such as SocialPatra and click Add New Application Password. WordPress shows the password once, so copy it right away.
  3. Paste it into SocialPatra. Add WordPress in Connections and enter your full site address, your WordPress username and the application password.

If the Application Passwords section is missing, your site may run an older WordPress, may not be served over HTTPS, or a security plugin may have turned the feature off.

How to schedule a WordPress post

  1. Pick your WordPress site in the composer. Select the connected site you want to publish to.
  2. Add a title. A title is required and can be up to 200 characters. Without one the post is not sent.
  3. Write the body. The body is HTML, up to 100,000 characters.
  4. Add a featured image if you want one. Attach one image and it is uploaded to your media library as the post’s featured image.
  5. Pick the date and time. Choose when it should publish and save.
