Schedule posts to Reddit with a Reddit scheduler
Scheduling Reddit posts with SocialPatra means you write a post once, choose one of the subreddits you moderate, pick a date and time, and SocialPatra submits the post to that subreddit at that moment.

Plan: Free and up
SocialPatra schedules to subreddits you moderate. After you connect Reddit it lists the subreddits where your account is a moderator, and those are the places you can post to. It does not list subreddits you only subscribe to.
That makes it a fit for community managers, brands that run their own subreddit and moderators who post announcements on a schedule. This page covers the connection, the post types and what SocialPatra sends to Reddit.
Connect Reddit and choose your subreddits
- Start the connection. In your workspace, choose to connect Reddit. You are sent to Reddit to sign in and allow access.
- Allow access. SocialPatra asks to see your Reddit identity, submit posts for you and read content. You never give SocialPatra your Reddit password.
- Pick the subreddits. SocialPatra shows the subreddits you moderate. Choose the ones to add. Each one becomes its own place to schedule to.
How to schedule a Reddit post
- Open the composer and pick a subreddit. Write the post in the composer and choose the subreddit it should go to.
- Add a title. Reddit posts need a title, so the composer asks for one. Without a title the post is not sent.
- Write text, add a link or attach media. A post with text only is submitted as a text post. A post with a link is submitted as a link post. A post with an attached image or video is submitted with that file.
- Pick the date and time. Choose when it should be submitted and save the post.
What SocialPatra sends to Reddit
| Detail | How it is handled |
|---|---|
| Title | Required. The title you enter is the Reddit post title. |
| Text | Up to 40,000 characters for the post body. |
| Link | A link is submitted as a link post. |
| Media | One image or video per post. Reddit galleries with several images are not supported. |
| Image and video files | JPG, PNG or GIF up to 20 MB, and MP4 or MOV up to 1 GB. |
| How media appears | An attached file is submitted to Reddit as a link post that points at the file. |
The composer does not set post flair, NSFW or spoiler tags. If your subreddit requires flair, check the rules before you schedule, and add the flair on Reddit afterwards if it needs to be changed.
Scheduling for a community you run
- Read your own subreddit rules against the post. A post that breaks them can be removed by AutoModerator even though you scheduled it.
- Write the title for the people who scroll the feed. It is the part everyone reads.
- Write each subreddit its own post instead of sending the same link everywhere. Each community has its own tone and rules.
- Check a post a few minutes after it goes out, since Reddit shows you what the community sees.
Use Reddit scheduling with the rest of SocialPatra
A Reddit scheduler is most useful for the routine posts a community needs: a weekly discussion thread, a monthly announcement, a reminder of the rules. Write them once, set the time and they appear in your subreddit without you being online at that hour.
The composer can draft a post from an idea, text or a link, with an editable draft for each account you pick. For a community, that means a first draft of the announcement you then rewrite in your own voice.
Bulk scheduling takes one CSV file, checks every row and shows you problems before any post is created, which helps when you plan a month of community posts. Recurring posts repeat a post daily, weekly or monthly, which is a natural fit for a standing weekly thread.
| Feature | Use it for |
|---|---|
| Bulk scheduling | Planning a month of community posts from one spreadsheet. |
| Recurring posts | A weekly or monthly thread that repeats on its own. |
| Social media automation tool | How scheduling, drafting and publishing fit together. |
| Social media management tool | Client workspaces, teams and approvals. |
Reddit scheduling for solo moderators and agencies
If you moderate a subreddit on your own, the schedule keeps your announcements regular even in a week when you are busy. Connect Reddit once, pick the subreddits you moderate and each becomes its own place to post.
If you work for an agency that runs a community for a client, give each client its own workspace. Their Reddit connection, subreddits and posts stay in that workspace and do not mix with another client’s, and you can set who on your team may write, schedule or approve.
Frequently asked questions
How do I schedule posts to Reddit?
Connect Reddit in SocialPatra, choose a subreddit you moderate, write a title and the text or link, then pick a date and time and save. The post is submitted at that time.
Can I schedule posts on Reddit?
Yes, to subreddits you moderate. Write the post in SocialPatra, pick a date and time, and it is submitted to the subreddit at that time.
Can I schedule to a subreddit I do not moderate?
Not today. SocialPatra lists the subreddits where your Reddit account is a moderator and posts only to those.
Does a Reddit post need a title?
Yes. The composer asks for a title, and a post without one is not sent.
Can I post several images to Reddit at once?
No. Reddit takes one image or video per post in SocialPatra, not a multi-image gallery.
Can I set post flair from SocialPatra?
Not from the composer today. Add or change flair on Reddit after the post goes out.
