Social media MCP server

The SocialPatra social media MCP server lets an AI assistant such as Claude draft, schedule and report on posts in your workspace through one connector URL.

Plan: Professional and up

You add one URL to your assistant, sign in with your SocialPatra account and approve what it may do. There is no API key to copy and nothing to install.

Once connected you can ask for things like "schedule this for Tuesday at 9am on LinkedIn" or "which of my posts did best last month", and the assistant uses the tools below.

How to schedule social media posts with Claude

  1. Open the connector settings in your assistant. In Claude.ai, or another assistant that supports remote MCP servers, open the place where you add a custom connector.
  2. Paste the SocialPatra URL. Add https://mcp.socialpatra.com/mcp as the server URL. The assistant finds the sign-in details by itself.
  3. Sign in to SocialPatra. A SocialPatra page opens. Sign in with your normal account.
  4. Pick the workspace and approve. Choose which workspace to connect and read the list of permissions the assistant asks for. Approve it if it looks right.
  5. Ask for what you need. Start with "use SocialPatra: who am I?" to confirm the connection, then ask for drafts, a schedule or a report.

The same URL works for ChatGPT and other assistants that accept a remote MCP server. Menu names differ by product, so follow your assistant's own help for where connectors are added.

How the connection and sign-in work

SocialPatra uses OAuth with PKCE, the standard sign-in for remote MCP servers. The assistant registers itself, sends you to a SocialPatra consent page and receives a token once you approve.

The token is tied to the single workspace you chose. The assistant cannot see your other workspaces.

Tokens can be revoked, and access ends if the account is no longer on a paid plan.

Scopes: what the assistant may do

The assistant asks for scopes when it connects. The consent page shows each one in plain words and you approve or decline. A connection with no scopes can only confirm who you are.

A scoped token can reach only the endpoints its scopes allow. Everything else is refused.

Scopes and what you see on the consent page
ScopeConsent text
connections:read View your connected social accounts
analytics:read View your analytics
posts:read View your posts and drafts
posts:write Create and schedule posts
media:upload Attach media to posts
content:read View your content library
content:write Save items to your content library

Creating a post needs both posts:write and media:upload. If you only want reporting, approve the read scopes and decline the rest.

Tools the MCP server exposes

Connecting or disconnecting social accounts stays in the SocialPatra web app. An assistant can read, post and report, but it cannot change which accounts are connected.

Claude Desktop with a local API key

If you prefer a local setup, the same server also runs on your computer over stdio. You create an API key in Workspace, Settings, API Keys, choose its scopes, then add a server entry to claude_desktop_config.json with the key and the path to the built server.

If you move to the hosted connector, remove the old local entry so the tools do not appear twice.

Plans and limits

MCP access is a paid feature. A free account cannot finish the consent step. The plan line at the top of this page is read from our current plan settings.

Frequently asked questions

What is a social media MCP server?

It is a service that lets an AI assistant use a social media tool on your behalf. SocialPatra's server lets the assistant list your accounts, create and schedule posts, and read analytics.

What is the SocialPatra MCP server URL?

https://mcp.socialpatra.com/mcp. Add it as a custom connector and sign in when prompted.

Can Claude schedule social media posts for me?

Yes, once you approve the posts:write and media:upload scopes. Claude uses the create_post tool to publish or schedule to the accounts you pick.

Does the assistant see all my workspaces?

No. You choose one workspace when you approve, and the connection works only in that workspace.

Which plan includes MCP access?

The plan shown at the top of this page is read from our current plan settings, so it is always up to date. The pricing page lists every plan.
