Telegram channel scheduler: schedule Telegram posts
To schedule Telegram posts with SocialPatra, you connect a bot you created to your channel or group, write the post once, pick a date and time, and the bot publishes it at that moment.

Plan: Free and up
Telegram has no login screen for this. You make a bot with Telegram’s own BotFather, make it an admin of your channel or group, and paste its token into SocialPatra. Nothing else about your account is shared.
It works for both channels and groups. Below: the setup, what a post can hold and the limits to plan for.
A Telegram channel scheduler matters most when your audience lives in different time zones or when you run a channel next to a full-time job. You write the announcement when you have time, queue it, and the bot posts it when you chose. The same composer sends to your other networks, so a launch can go to Telegram, Discord and Slack together.
It fits a solo creator with one channel and an agency that runs channels for clients, each client in its own workspace.
Connect a Telegram channel or group
- Create a bot with BotFather. In Telegram, open @BotFather and send /newbot. Pick a name and a username that ends in "bot". BotFather replies with the bot token. Copy it.
- Make the bot an administrator. Open your channel or group, go to Administrators, and add the bot. Turn on the Post Messages permission (Send Messages in a group). A plain member cannot post.
- Find the channel or group ID. A public channel uses its handle, like @yourchannel. A private channel or group uses a numeric ID that starts with -100. Forwarding a message from it to @userinfobot shows the number.
- Paste both into SocialPatra. Add Telegram in Connections, paste the Bot Token and the ID. SocialPatra checks the token and that the bot can see the chat before it saves.
How to schedule a Telegram post
- Pick the Telegram account in the composer. Choose the channel or group. Add more accounts to send the same post elsewhere.
- Write the post. Text can be up to 4,096 characters. With an image or video attached, Telegram shortens the limit to a 1,024 character caption.
- Add media or a poll. Attach images or video, or turn the post into a poll with up to 10 options.
- Pick the date and time. Choose when it should go out and save the post.
What a scheduled Telegram post can contain
| Item | Supported |
|---|---|
| Post types | Text, image, video and poll. |
| Text length | Up to 4,096 characters. |
| Caption with media | Up to 1,024 characters. |
| Media per post | Up to 10 items. |
| Images | JPEG, PNG, GIF or WebP, each up to 10 MB. |
| Video | MP4, MOV or WebM, each up to 50 MB. |
| Polls | Up to 10 options. |
| Removing a sent post | Supported from SocialPatra. |
Plan a Telegram channel calendar
Telegram gives you room. A text post can run to 4,096 characters, enough for a full announcement. The catch is that once you attach an image or video, the text becomes a caption and Telegram allows only 1,024 characters. Decide before you write whether the post is a text post or a media post, and write to that limit.
You can attach up to 10 media items to one post. Images can be JPEG, PNG, GIF or WebP up to 10 MB each, and video can be MP4, MOV or WebM up to 50 MB each. For a product update, one clear image with a short caption and a link usually reads better than a wall of text.
Polls take up to 10 options. They suit a channel that wants feedback, such as asking which feature to build next, and a scheduled poll lets you run it at the hour your readers are most likely to see it.
Tips for scheduling Telegram posts
- Check the bot is an administrator with the Post Messages permission before you schedule a week of posts. A plain member cannot post.
- Use the channel handle for a public channel and the numeric ID starting with -100 for a private channel or group.
- Write the first line so it works in the channel preview, because that is what readers see before they open the post.
- Keep captions under 1,024 characters when you attach media, so nothing is cut off.
- Review the queue before a launch. A scheduled post can be edited before it goes out.
Use Telegram scheduling with the rest of SocialPatra
The composer can draft a post from an idea, text or a link, with one editable draft for each account you pick. You read and change it before it is scheduled.
For a content calendar, bulk scheduling takes one CSV file, checks every row and shows you any problem before a post is created. Recurring posts repeat a post daily, weekly or monthly, a good fit for rules reminders, weekly digests or opening hours.
| Feature | Use it for |
|---|---|
| Bulk scheduling | Planning a channel calendar from one spreadsheet. |
| Recurring posts | Repeating a post daily, weekly or monthly. |
| Social media automation tool | How scheduling, drafting and publishing fit together. |
| Social media management tool | Client workspaces, teams and approvals. |
