Call to action

A call to action (CTA) is the line that tells readers the one thing to do next.

Examples are “reply with your question”, “save this for later” or “read the full guide”. A post with no CTA leaves the reader to guess whether you want anything from them.

Call to action in practice

Ask for one action per post and match it to the goal. A reply request builds conversation, a save request signals value, and a link click moves someone off the platform. Several asks in one post split attention and usually get fewer of each.

Make the action easy and specific. “Tell us your biggest scheduling problem in the comments” is easier to answer than “let us know what you think”. Place it near the end of the caption, and match it to where the reader is: a stranger needs a softer ask than a customer.
