Social proof

Social proof is evidence that other people trust you, such as reviews, testimonials and follower counts.

People copy the choices of others, especially when unsure. Customer quotes, shared photos, case studies and visible numbers all lower the perceived risk of trying you.

Social proof in practice

Use real examples with permission and keep them specific. Invented or exaggerated proof damages trust, and many platforms and regulators treat fake reviews as a violation.

Place proof near the decision: a customer quote beside an offer, or a case study linked in your pinned post. Ask customers for specific outcomes, not general praise, and keep the date, since old proof loses force.

Several kinds of proof exist: customer reviews, case studies, press mentions, numbers of users and endorsements from known people. Use whatever you can honestly show, and state numbers only when you can check them.
