Cross-posting

Cross-posting is publishing the same content on more than one social account or platform.

It saves time, but identical posts rarely suit every network. Image shapes, text limits, hashtags and tone all differ, and a post that ignores them looks out of place.

Cross-posting in practice

A better approach is one core message adapted for each platform. Keep the idea, change the format and the opening line, and check how the post will look before it goes out.

Check each platform’s limits before you publish. Text that fits one network may be cut on another, links may not be clickable, and image ratios differ. Preview the post per platform where you can, and write a separate opening line for the networks where it matters most.
