Carousel
A carousel is a single post made of several images or videos that people swipe through.
It lets you tell a sequence: steps, a before and after, or a short lesson with one idea per slide. Because people keep swiping, carousels often hold attention longer than a single image.
Carousel in practice
Put the strongest slide first, keep text large enough to read on a phone, and end on the action you want. The number of slides and whether photos and videos can be mixed depends on the platform.
Common mistakes are putting too much text on a slide, crowding the edges where the app crops the image, and leaving the last slide without a next step. Export all slides at the same size so the swipe feels smooth, and write alt text for each image.
Carousel in SocialPatra
SocialPatra publishes carousels to Instagram with 2 to 20 items, photos and videos mixed, and to Facebook with 2 to 10 items, which must be all photos or all videos.
