Approval workflow
An approval workflow holds a post until a named reviewer signs it off, then lets it publish.
The writer submits a draft, a reviewer approves or rejects it, and only approved posts go out. It is used when a mistake in public is costly: client accounts, regulated industries, or any brand with more than one person writing.
Approval workflow in practice
A good workflow is short. One reviewer per post, a clear reason when something is rejected, and a rule that nobody approves their own work. Long chains slow publishing until people route around them, which defeats the point.
Approval workflow in SocialPatra
In SocialPatra the author sends a draft or scheduled post for approval, a member with approval permission approves or rejects it, a rejection needs a reason, and nobody can approve their own post.
